May 2025 Stock Competition Entries!

What a nice little surprise today, checking back into ASF :) I wouldn't put so much emphasis on my stock picking ability however, owe a lot more to both, Lady Luck, and Mr. Time.

Will roll APX forward for the June competition, but this time on technical analysis :)

Pattern/signal is a volatility compression pattern, following the run up into the AGM. Stock now on the radar of institutional investors/reclaiming the spotlight - more eyes on the stock = more impending buy orders coming. Had about 1-2 weeks for the market to absorb the short term sellers (post-rally in price). Have held up significantly well on abating volume since, allowing its order book to tighten up once again.

The white dots are what i think price trend will be. A dog's sketch of this would also hold equal weighting in guessing price trajectory, however.

If we net a $1.20 entry for June, with a 1 month timeframe, and a $1.80 resistance level from the 200d MA, that's about 50%? Not bad.

Fundamentally, story is unchanged from the last time i spoke about it. If anything, slight reinforcement from NVDA's quarter result 2 nights ago - affirming Chinese AI firms and chip manufacturer doing fine without US chips. Strong Chinese AI market = Strong APX pipeline of work. No further catalyst expected until - possibly late July, if company issue out profit upgrade. Otherwise, August reporting season.

-End of APX-

If i can do a non ASX-listed stock, I would like to submit Hasbro Inc. instead :D Been working on this investment thesis for the last week or so. Report is attached to this post :D

Wow, what a finish! All came down to the CSPA at the end of the day... incredible!

But @Joe Blow , I have to disagree with the final standings. @Miner should be in #2 position ahead of me and I should be in #3 position instead since KAI had a closing price of $0.0255, not $0.025. That would give Miner a 27.5% 'change in %' rather than the recorded 25.0% that is listed in the competition standings (0.0255 / 0.02 = 1.275):

Regardless, amazing race for the top 3 positions, it was nail biting... cheers! :)

We have a Steward's Inquiry regarding the May competition. Can you direct me to an official closing price for KAI on a reliable website? I'm seeing a closing price of $0.025 in several places.

Something has come up. I'm going to have to leave this until tomorrow. Sorry all.
No problems at all, feel free to take your time - agreed with @Dona Ferentes's comment above with the attached screenshots. The CXA trade, as small as it is, did influence the closing price and @Miner is worthy of the second place for the month accordingly. :)

could always split it

(50 + 25) / 2 = 37.50 each :)

call it a tie 👔

And now to the luckless @TimeISmoney, just scrapped into the dungeon by a whisker.
So for the duration of your incarceration in said room of doom, the near on useless feather duster awaits for the required cleaning duties.

@IvoryWolf
First of all, congratulations - not just making an almost photo finish for May tipping but also for your excellent attitude towards fellow @Miner. That's a fantastic care for the fellow tipper.
To me, you have won the race for your awesome sporting behaviour.
Congratulations to @Rypieee for leading the top position pusshing the competitors mile below him.
Congratulations to you @IvoryWolf for such a close finish at the last day of race pushing @embryo and @access .
May tipping month was really entertaining after a long time.
I am happy with the position whatever it comes from @Joe Blow .
Cheers

Congratulations to @Rypieee, @Miner, and @IvoryWolf for taking out the top three spots in the May 2025 stock tipping competition! :xyxthumbs

As discussed in the posts above from yesterday, KAI has had to have its final price changed from $0.025 to $0.0255 as a result of a final CXA trade at that price at 3:56:52pm yesterday afternoon. Changes cannot be made to the results table manually, or at least I can't manage to do it, so the change will just be made in the final results detailed below.

Rypieee finished in first place with an outstanding 50% return with APX. In second place was Miner who achieved an impressive 27.50% with KAI. Rounding out the top three for May was IvoryWolf who selected BOE, which returned a solid 25.24%.

Can @Rypieee, @Miner, and @IvoryWolf please contact me via PM regarding their prizes.

Best of luck to all in the June competition!

CONGRATULATIONS to @Rypieee

a nice win and good work

well done to @Miner and @IvoryWolf a great effort

a special mention to @embryo and @access who kept the pressure on for the placing , oh so close , better luck this month

only glares of jealousy to @TimeISmoney and @finicky i thought my pick was an easy negative 30% , and a very good chance of cellar honors ( and at least one more parcel of cheap YAL maybe two )

a bitter-sweet result for me i grabbed one parcel of YAL early on , more than 20 cents lower than the comp. start but then it started to recover pushing me into positive territory and 10th spot ( go figure !! )

but seriously , good fun everybody

and thanks to ASF staff/management and the sponsors for running the comp.

good luck everybody in the June 2025 comp.

Hello

1748955211071.png
My hearty congratulations to @Rypieee for a mile ahead win leaving four of us @IvoryWolf @Miner @embryo and @access to make a close finish.
The gap between IvoryWolf and Miner, as well as the gap between embryo and access, is like a photo finish. We all deserve to pat our backs—my special thanks to the excellent sporting spirit that backed me for second place. I hope we will take his spirit to make this competition healthy.

Finally, thank you, Sir @Joe Blow, for organising this event and making all participants and non-participants complete joy every month.

Regarding the prize money, like my previous wins, it is the fun I can not return, but please keep the prize money from me as a thank you. It is a priceless service from you without any payment from me.

Hope (Or should I say, I wish :) ) to win the June competition and let you keep my prize money again :)
