Haha, given that I have taken second place in the competition a reasonable number of times and first place only a small number, and I have been push down to second place near or right at the end, it might be appropriate.

But Mick says if I overtake him now, I become the uncouth peasant, and so I currently find myself aspiring to uncouth peasantry.

So while your suggestion may have been appropriate in previous years, perhaps "I currently find myself aspiring to uncouth peasantry" is better suited to the current day.

With Mick accusing me of being a peasant and you describing me as aristocracy, I find myself warming more to you, despite your clear error or dishonesty.
