If we consider that a high % of people touring around the outback are elderly grey nomads, then obviously they are going to avoid places with street violence.The caravan forums have had a few threads on this, AS and Fitzroy Crossing, Broome and a few other places are being avoided or folk are driving straight through.When it was safer they would stop for a week to rest and have a look around, now it is fill up and keep on going.If the Elders want people to stop then they need to fix the problems so people feel safe
