Buy them from whoever gives the best value for money, kind of makes the most sense, but politicians haven't been doing that for years.

The USA still is a trusted ally, they just want a reciprocal agreement, where their allies spend an agreed amount of money on defence rather than bludging on the the U.S taxpayer.

The U.S has a lot more per capita debt than Australia, why should Australia get away with buying minimal military equipment off the U.S and relying on the U.S to pull them out of the manure?

Don't forget it was only a couple of years ago, we were going to buy diesel subs from France, so we weren't exactly showing a lot of mateship with the U.S were we and I'm sure France wouldn't jump to our aid.  :roflmao:

We need to stop whining like babies and pull our big boys pants on. 😂

The problem is our politicians have done nothing but spend the countries money, now they have to learn how to be frugal, that will be hard.

That will take planning, which doesn't seem to be in the politicians skill set these days.;)
