I think Erdodog ( the wanna be Sultan) has a grand vision to resurrect the Ottoman Empire like Putin has with the Russian Empire. There is an election in 2023 and because the Turkish economy has turned into excrement, he is trying to change tact and divert attention by threatening to invade and take the Greek Islands as a show of strength as a leader.
Then there is to continued occupation of Cyprus too but that is another topic

How could the tur etf outperform all exchange index, in USD if the economy is so crap????
Genuinely asking.so either the economy is not crap , or is planned to be booming soon.
Once again, not a friend of Turkey i see as the ambassador of the green plague in that area..

A disclaimer: i just purchased a small amount of the etf TUR on the nyse last night after realising the performance during the bear phase...
Do not think i am biaised, i also own US defence ETF (being US, it is attack) as i see more longterm future in both than in local shares such as fmr green wet dreams or similar.
I hope we will keep a thread alive about Turkey and even better we will keep Armenia alive,...

Armenia is a member of the Russia-led Collective Security Treaty Organization and has a bilateral defense agreement with Russia. But both Moscow and the CSTO refused to intervene on Armenia's behalf or condemn Azerbaijan's incursion (only a small CSTO monitoring mission was sent). A few months later Armenia refused to host a CSTO exercise and further downgraded its participation in the bloc.

The Russian MFA claimed on September 8 that it observed doubts within Armenian official circles and political elite about Armenian bilateral ties with Russia, trilateral Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani ties, and ties to the Russian-dominated Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The MFA claimed that Armenian leadership has conducted “unfriendly actions,” including indicators that ISW recently identified: the provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s wife Anna Hakobyan to deliver the humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and Armenia’s decision to host joint military exercises with the United States.[36] The MFA also criticized Armenian leadership for moving to ratify the International Criminal Court (ICC) Rome Statute and stated that it issued a formal protest to the Armenian Ambassador to Russia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, in response to these “unfriendly actions.”[37] The MFA’s direct response to these events indicates that Russian anger over indications of Armenian dissatisfaction with Russian security guarantees are not confined to the Russian ultranationalist information space but includes the Russian government.

it will be interesting to see where the refugees settle , after all their current leader has capitulated with barely a harsh word , maybe the Armenians would trust him but i wouldn't .

I was badmouthing ..there is an article on their ABC....poor Armenians, collaterals of the Ukraine war....
One by one Kosovo Armenia Croatia and former Yugoslavia , the other green plague moves on, not to say anything of Italy Spain France or former UK....
Never since the rise of Islam more than 1000y ago, have the armies of the prophet conquered so much land and so quickly as in the last 50y, and with the full support of the US of A..in God we trust..but which God?
And we focus on the voice, or me too, BLM, Ukraine while seismic trends in Islam and wef are destroying the bases of our civilisation...
