And stupid enough to be sucked in by the scammers.That ABC article is quite sad. It would appear that the only way to stop this fraud is for enough people to be scammed that it becomes common knowledge.
I cannot see Government nor police measures working because of the gullibility and/or shame factor associated with the victims.
I believe it is a cop out to say it could happen to anyone. It only happens to people with cognitive problems or innocence of the ways of the world.

@Bellcose I have a sister who I have despised for most of my living memory. She is the most greedy, cowardly type one could come up against. She would be at the top of a scammers list of scammers.Not directly related to scams but it does imply there are some people are close to be considered such. It is one reason never to get hitched again.
