Companies race to secure supplies after China restricts gallium, germanium exports

Companies caught out by China's decision to restrict exports of two metals widely used in semiconductors and electric vehicles were racing to secure supplies on 4 July as some industry suppliers worried that curbs on rare earth exports could follow.

Quite often, a large volume day is followed by a breakout, on rough average, 3 weeks later.
Highly variable whether it happens though, and how long to wait.
