PPT - Perpetual Limited

Bigdog 2025 Tipping Note

PPT: The demerger may not happen, CT & WM are good businesses which are growing, have relatively stable earnings, and are cash generative. Secondly, the new CEO Bernard Reilly has made it a priority to address the cost base. Clarity about costs should start to see forecasts rising. Thirdly, the shares are unloved and undervalued, with the asset management business having an implied valuation of 4.5-5.5x EBITDA.

am interested to see if SOL makes another offer on this

i hold SOL ( and might be tempted to buy into PPT as a side-door into extra SOL)

Perpetual Ltd (ASX: PPT) shares have taken a hit on Monday after the company confirmed that its much-anticipated deal with global investment giant KKR has been terminated.

The announcement ended months of speculation about the future of Perpetual's Corporate Trust and Wealth Management units.

With no agreement reached, the company has a new plan in place, including the sale of its wealth management arm.

don't forget SOL was interested in part or all of PPT

that still might return

( i hold SOL and am watchful for a side-door entry into extra SOL )

I hold both PPT and SOL and would be happy to swap my PPT for some more SOL.

Its a tricky one though, because I'd like as much as possible for my PPT, but I wouldn't want my SOL diminished by overpaying.

my memory could be fuzzy , but i think SOL was offering a scrip deal ( which i would like very much )

i am not interested in a cash deal my average for SOL is under $13.10 , i may as well just collect the current dividends and leave any capital gains to others

In the scheme of things, PPT would be folded into the fund management bits of SOL with minimal impact to the latter. IMO

now IF , SOL were to acquire PPT would it break up the assets ( keep some , sell some )

a further wild card is PPT planning to off-load some assets .. would SOL find that spin-off more attractive than the parent
