TSLA - Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ)

True.

But at some point shorts will cover and that in such a volatile stock could be worth a fast trade.

The question is though how much long term damage has Elon done to the brand, a year ago I couldn’t have imagined ever buying another brand, now when it comes time to replace my Tesla I will be shopping around.

I am very Glad I sold most of my TSLA stock when I did, I have 10 shares left that I am warehousing on my books for the long term, but it’s hard to get as excited about the company as I used to be. Elon is a fool.

I find it really odd that people who at one stage sung the praises of all things Tesla, suddenly want to look at other brands because they do not like the new politics of the founder.
Has the quality of the cars changed?
Has the service level declined?
Has the performance level declined?
Has its range declined?
Has its safety rating declined?
Have they stopped emitting dangerous pollutants like Co2?
The answer to all of those is no.
So you have to wonder about the logic of them when they originally bought their Tesla.

Woke beemers equivalent at the time.
Is Elon position hurting Tesla, definitely, especially as is the exact opposite of tesla cult members.
But would Tesla be worth anything without Elon..i do not think so
You need a visionary, with full pockets, engineering knowledge and a FU attitude as he knows he is right.
Without him, everything would crash down and turn into a mega bloated corporate.
You remember Apple and S Jobs?
And Jobs was not even technically that sharp
What this guy is is what made Tesla..and yet the former groupies are mad..
Says a lot about them and it is not flattering

Re. Tesla aka musk.
Hahaha, the blinkers and rose coloured glasses are finally off as "black cap" has shown his true colours. The best or perhaps the only way for one to express one's discontent and send a clear message, is with the hip pocket and shopping elsewhere.

For the share trading punter, volatility is good, uncertainty not so much.

Re. EV's, me thinks that Tesla and the EV industry as a whole are heading for tough times. At least in the short/med term as the true cost and environmental impacts of all things Net Zero hit home.

Overnight, one of Musks other babies, X, had a DDoS cyber attack that slowed everything down.
As Musk says, they have been constantly under attack from Cyber warfare from day one.
According to Musk, the DDOS traffic emanated from Ukraine.
We have no way of knowing if its true or just propaganda.
However, with Musk now enemy number 1, if you were a Tesla owner, you might start worrying about cyber attacks on the FSD software.
What a great way to destroy a company, infiltrate the FSD and crash all the Teslas.

Well Mick, at least we have shown we are independent thinkers, we didn't buy Teslas in the first place. 😂

I was thinking the same thing. I bet Elon's PR team held him back a bit from being open to the public but now his true colours have come out.
He actually took retaliatory disciplinary action against the former workers who spoke out against him, and Trump had to defund the government funded legal action against him. That doesn't look great in the eye of a supporter.

People expect to be shafted by China, but not their kind, how many public servants are now looking for a job?

I think they have other options and most likely cheaper like BYD and all of these other hybrid EV things they have, but it's more about the patriotic look in America.

Companies spend many millions on their brands, think Red Bull or Nike.
I just think its bad for companies to get involved with politics.
Many of you guys criticised Qantas for supporting The Voice -same thing.
Just puts people off.

In this case, Musk has been involved in other countries politics, Britain and Germany!
Do you think he will get involved in our election when it is announced?
Of course there will be a backlash!

You can call everyone who no longer wants to buy his car woke. Doesn't change the reality. I called this months ago.

Everything of Elon's is under attack.

Political involvement is definitely bad for any manufacturer.

If you look at the outset Trump is an anti-climate denier, defunding all the Green and EPA groups, where does Tesla now fit in with their deal?
See how hypocritical it looks to tree huggers?

I would have bought a Tesla if
(1). I could get in and out of one without wrecking whats left of my original but aged body.
(2) One was available when we started looking.
(3) My wife liked driving one.
The last one was the real killer, its her car.
I certainly would not have bought one based on Musks political views.

Have you missed something Mick ? Perhaps the stench around the icon of Tesla ? The fact is that while Tesla cars were/are indeed great products, most people with a conscience don't want to be anywhere near him today.

There is also the fact that many other electric cars and battery systems are high quality products. It isn't hard to find a good value alternative.
Meanwhile those who still drive Teslas and don't want to identified with the behaviour of Elon Musk resort to find the most egregious stickers they can. I suspect VC has nailed the issue with Tesla and Elon Musk. Very few current owners will repurchase the brand. Most people looking for a new EV will look elsewhere.

Unless of course you really love what Elon Musk is doing and also like EV's

What Elon Musk did to make a great electric car business was fantastic
What he is doing now to destroy democracies around the world and in the US is execrable.
Get with it.
