Classic 100 from Reddy.
Indian fans crying.

Their young guys are good. Jaiswal should have got 100 but was burned by Kohli.

Yesterday we were joking, don't get into trouble swimming if Kohli is the surf lifesaver. He won't help.

With ten overs to go, Oz criketers win the fourth test.
Fittingly, it was Lyon who took the winning wicket.
I thought he bowled extremely well throughout the test, just as all the Oz bowlers did.
So many plays and misses for all batsmen, the lucky ones had multiple instances.
No doubt that Bumrah is the best bowler in the world at the moment, but collectively, the OZ bowling unit was superior to that of India.
India have their problems with a couple of their best batsmen in Kohli and captain Sharmah very much in the twilight of their careers.
Ashwin has already retired, I suspect that Jadeja will follow soon.
Pant is becoming a liability as his temperament and judgment in cricket is seriously questionable.
They have an outstadning new batsmen in Jaiswal, and an outstanding all rounder in Reddy, who will only get better with experience.
Now we move on to Sydney where OZ will hope to seal the return of the Border Gavasker Trophy and give themselves a good chance of joining South Africa in the ITC championship test.

Kinda surprised that Mitch Marsh was dropped from the team for the fifth test.
Good for Beau Webster, but not really sure if he is the best around of those waiting in the wings.
I guess they are looking for a bit of a fill in till Cameron Green is fit again.
He is better batsmen and bowler than either Marsh or Webster.
Biggest problem is that Webster, like all the other contenders, has been playing that ridiculous trash T20 game.
WIll not help him much the Test arena.

there isnt really any one waiting in the wings to replace Green. Victorian Captain Sutherland looks the goods, but think he has been out injured also

Another good day of cricket.
Oz bowlers once again bowled as a unit, and Beau Webster surprised a few with his ability to swing the ball.
Might have had his first test wicket if the OZ fielders were not so clumsy.
Smith dropped two, Lyon dropped one, and Lambshanks dropped one.
All bar one of Smiths had a degree of difficulty, but these you would expect to take 8 times out of ten.
Australia may be happier than India, though Kawaja's wicket off what proved to be the last ball of the day soured things somewhat.
As an aside, I am having second thoughts about Konstas.
He seems to be going out of his way to aggravate people.
He got involved with Bumrah on the last ball before Kawaja's dismissal when there was no need, and he inserted himself into the discussion.
May have just interrupted Kawaja's concentration somewhat.
A little like Warner I suppose, but as yet has not shown the same test temperament.

Good to see Marsh dropped. Can't bat or bowl. Everyone in the team loves him but we need someone who can hold their place. So over him. Never want to see him again.

Webster is in Tazzy. Amazing he got picked despite his great average last year. Just got his 50 as I type. On debut, the best batsmen.

Bumrah has left ground!
Shame if he retires hurt for the test series as it is exciting and deserves a great finish.

so then Australia 4 fa 104
Everybody in the commentary banging on Khawaja on fire ... put the knockers on the lad...
Crikey... Go Australia

Kind regards

Webster seemed to transition quite well. bowled a good line, played shots, got runs ... including the winning 4.

Glad his parents flew up to see.

The fifth test won by OZ, gives them a 3-1 win in the series, brings back the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, cements Oz in the ITC test Championship playoff against South Africa, annd yet still get called by "soft' by the Indian coach.
I guess if the Australians are soft, the Indians must be blamange.
Kohli, despite being a an extraordinary cricketer, showed once again that he is just a complete asshole.
The childish sandpaper display when Smith was dismissed joined the aggressive shoulder bump on Konstas in the fourth test to add to his other arrogant displays over the years.
I guess coming from the top Brahman caste in the Indian caste hierarchy makes him so.
Someone will punch Konstas before long, but that is no excuse for the petty way the Indians went straight to Konstas went Kawaja went out.
Scotty Boland would walk into any other team in the world, but still remains Oz fourth choice.
Webster proved me wrong, and shows the value of the sheffield shield performances in picking players.
Lets hope the selectors keep with that policy.
Its now off to Sri Lanka for a two test series, then to the UK for the ITC championship against the Saffers.
In the meantime, its raining here, so no harvest tractor driving for me..

the indians just came off a thumping at home by the Kiwis & aside from Bumrah no other player did much all series. & the Aussies only just won

the Aussie side as it happens most seasons, we get thumped over seas and play at home and win on doctered pitches only to be convinced the problems are solved and we have the winning combination again. the side is basically a dads army Smith is 35, Khawaja is 38, carey is 33, Head 31 our bowlers ages 32 to 35 even Scott Boland is 35 & the near undroppable underpreforming Mitch Marsh is 35.

up untill the retirement of Warner aside from Green, they the selectors havent really blooded any young blood and stick with them to gain the expericence of playing around the current group. in the next few years there will be a very large void of expericence and the selectors and current leadership group will need to have a lot to answer for.

Webber looked a solid player but is 31

* on warners retirement, he is dreadfull in the Commentary box youd almost him back out playing and failing every innings

Maxwell the genius at it again.................

<<Maxwell smashed four fours and 10 sixes as he single-handedly flipped the game on its head before eventually being dismissed for 90 off just 52 balls.

In amusing scenes, Maxwell and Usama Mir combined for 81 runs with Mir contributing zero to that tally.>>

Mir was merely there to hold the other bat, 81 runs and he was still on 0, good team player as Maxwell went berserk again
