Same question as with Marnus.

Who to replace him with?
looking at the shield this season, there are a couple who come to mind.
One of the forgotten men of cricket, Kurtis Patterson scored a big century in the latest match, is just behind henry hunt in the most runs for the year in shield, despite only having six innings so far this year.
As can be seen from his scores this year, has been very consistent, and has the bBadmanesque average of 105.4 this year.

Another one to watch is an opener by the name of henry Hunt.
he scored his third century of the season, and is the leading run scorer in shield cricket this year, though he

Sam Konstas has already put his name up there, with two centuries in Shield and another in a contrived one dayer.
he has a very healthy shield average of 59.

Thanks for that Mick, it makes the situation clearer.

I doubt if Smith will be dropped though, he's clearly living on his reputation.

And Right on Cue, Smith picks up a ton just before tea on the second day.
Century no 33, his first in 26 tests.
Travis Head beat him to the century by some margin.
And he is still going at 146NO.
6 of his nine centuries have been at a minimum of 130.
he must like playing against Indians.
in his last 11 innings against them in all forms of cricket including the WTC final, he has scored 872 runs at 87.2 average with four 100's and two 50's.
Oz going along very nicely thanks.

Looks like a draw. Damn lousy Brisbane weather.

Bring on the Melbourne test.
Going on the second day. Might try to go on the third day.

India 3 down at lunch, still 423 runs behind.
Kohli gone for 3
Starc for the umpteenth time takes a wicket in his first over.
Mitch marsh made up somewhat for his poor batting with two catches, one outstanding, one regulation.
Meanwhile across the Tasman, Kane Williamson just bought up century no 33 with a six.
NZ doing a bazball on England.

Sam Konstas gets the nod for the OZ mens team to no great surprise.
However, ya have to feel sorry for Mcsweney.
Does not open for his state, but plumped into the job anyway.
Over the first three tests, his average is14.4 with a top score of 39.
Kawaja, his opening partner has an average of 12.6 with a top score of 21.
So did Mcsweney not keep his place instead of Kawaja?
What of Mitch Marsh? 69 run with a high of 47, and despite being a bowler down in the third test, only bowled 2 overs.
So what is he there for, His good looks?
One of the shining lights apart from T Head has been Carey.
Looks very comfortable at test level these days, his keeping has been more than tidy and contributed very handily with the bat.
Boland coming in for Josh Hazelwood is good omen given the success that S Boland has had at the MCG over the years,
Lets hope he repeats it.

Mitch Marsh is like the golden child.
Scott Boland is like McSweeney.
He always does well but never picked unless there is an injury.

I honestly think they should have picked McSweeney in front of Kawaja. He is the future and earned his spot. They probably didn't want to remove the only South Asian from the side. To me its weird there aren't more from that background making any of the state squads considering I see them playing near me in the very average Melbourne winter every year.

replace him with who, finding a replacement for warner is turning out to be a task despite warner like smith is living off the glory days.

with warners, talent in the commentary box most people would prefer him back on the field with out a microphone
