i keep a running tally every trade is recorded + or -. I too find their contra system an absolute mystery and have had to call to find out what's owed, when . Usually find im ahead by several days.
I have the same problem. I have been told you can opt out of the contra system with them and settle using BPay. If you trade most days it is almost impossible to draw funds as they contra the oldest credit first.

Seems like there are many happy customers at westpac.

I don't think a mathematical genius would even be able to dechiper the portfolio pages of most westpac users here.

Just had a look at the asx portfolio tool and not sure how that is going to show you if westpac have stuffed up or not???

It does not show past trades etc? Does it?

I find I have to do a lot of checking up on my ledger balance to make sure they have added it up porperly. It is really more hassle than it is worth.

Oh Well soon enuff I should be with a new provider.

Just don't like comsec's limit of 7.5k credit for non-top stocks.

Just got off the phone to the complaints department they were happy to give me an extra three contra days on my 3 a/cs (i dont have to pay for any shares ive bought for 6 days) as a form of compensation for their recent systems failure(s). Still happy to keep them onside at this stage because im not sure their are many sites that offer as much as what they do in reguards to availabe research and market data. However they still have a long way to to prove their reliability, i hope they can!

Well I thought yesterday I fluffed up on my timing of accounts.I forgot to ring my cash management a/c @ UBS ,where the cut off time to transfer money (without extra costs) is midday. So I rang Westpac and they where kind enough to advance me a days credit. Not much I know but like me I do multiple trades per day ,each transaction would have cost me $75 penalty on settlement day. I can live with their generousity.................
Now back to bitching on monday....I'll scratch their bloody eyes out if I see those penalty payments on my accounts! G'nite from a tired trader its taken hours to solve the accounts for this week.................... ooooh saw the mention re Portfolio tools .......geeeee talk about simple tools....too much frigging around ,I get tired when computershare send me documents in the post and I have sold the share after holding them for 24 hours or less.....I suppose the extra paperwork keeps my fires burning!

As frustrating as its been these last two weeks their staff have been very quick to offer compensation in one form or another. I guess they have copped plenty for the system failure. Any rate its good you had a win with them and i know what u mean by the paper work.....out of the mailbox and into the fire up here in old cold ballarat!

Westpac Broking problems again today

Nothing seems to be working right now!

Like hung!

Westpac are really starting too p@$s me off!

These guys were so good up too a couple of weeke ago!

You would think they could get it right after a weekend to test the system!

Nice kool day today in perth (at least so far)

So I can walk over to the bank at lunch and get that comsec paperwork signed

I am furious. This is an absolute joke how the hell can anybody seriously expect you to day trade with a joke of a system like this. If you can get onto the site it takes 5 minutes to refresh your screen! I've missed the open, i cant place any trades and if i want to find out anything reguarding how my existing orders are going it takes 10 minutes to get thru to an operator.
Ive seen camiras more reliable than westpac broking.

Make sure you print the relevant doc's you need, most branches won't have it ready and will take 20mins for them to do it, if they will do it at all.

All you need to print is the forms at the end that you need to sign.

I've dashed out to buy some rolls at the bakery ( they went up 5 cents today!!) Banked a cheque ,dashed to the post office ,drove to get 18 shovels of brickie sand got back ...Westpac still twiddling their thumbs......I must be bloody mad for rushing!
