Similar story to our solar cells, an Australian invented the first current technology solar cells a UNSW, then one of the members of the team set up manufacturing in China and our manufacturing plant in Homebush was closed in around 2010 and it wasn't on Abbott's watch.
So offshoring technology to cheap labour countries, isn't only a U.S thing.
